Date #8

I should let you know that I didn't have a date on Friday- i was sick. I didn't even go to work!
But I rallied for the cause on Saturday and went out with J- whom i thought i had a lot in common with because he hearts AD (arrested development), The office, and 30 rock.. hello funny! He immediately tells me that he doesn't drink, and asked if i would feel weird if i was the only one drinking. So I said no, because i then said i had to leave by 8 to met friends for dinner (which was true) and he too had to go. So i thought, 1 hour, 60 min, i mean i should be able to handle that. I should have known better as I hung up the phone, yet thought, can't judge a book by its cover. I meet him at Accademia di Vino, for drinks. He said he'd been there for a while, as he took the F train from Queens and it was working on schedule, shocker. Huge problem for me. 1- if you say your from NYC- you should be. Look we all pay a premium to live here, so don't do the Queens bit and pull the it takes me 20 min to get there. I don't care, your not in Manhattan! I know people put that on their profile because they think it gets more bites, and it does- but really- its a lie! Ok i push thru that and order wine, he gets a Coke. Not as weird as you may think. We speak about his job in the record business, and his unfortunate lay off and then travel, which i can actually relate to- he was in an orchestra growing up where he got to travel the world, so we spoke about his love of the far east, and my desire to go. He starts to tell me about what his next career move would be and how much he loves music. And how he could change me into a music lover.. blah blah blah. I don't even own a radio! When the waitress came over i did the "oh what time is it? bc i don't think i can have another..." and turns out, 8:05 i was right on time to leave! He surprisingly wanted to pay- which i thought was VERY thoughtful. Won't be going out again... You win some, you loose some.
Update- Tonight dinner with D from last Sunday and Thursday nights.
- Phoning Cocky guy to solidify plans today
- Spoke with Philly guy who was not pleased that I don't care to see him again- yikes!
